Carers Australia Competition Terms and Conditions
- Information on how to enter and prize details forms part of these conditions of entry.
- The promoter is Carers Australia Inc of Unit 1, 16 Napier Close, Deakin ACT 2600
- Entry is open to all residents of Australia aged up to 25 years who are caring for a friend or family member with a disability, mental health issue, illness, a alcohol or other drug problem, or who are frail aged. Employees of Carers Australia or Carer Associations and their immediate families are ineligible to enter. To enter you must answer all mandatory questions on the Young Carers 2010 Online Competition. You are able to enter more than once, however there will be a maximum of one Young Carers Kit posted to each entrant, and each entrant is only eligible to win a maximum of one $250 voucher from JB Hi-Fi. Entry is only via the ReachOut website, www.reachout.com.au, from April 6 and closes 12midnight EST on 9 May 2010.
- Entry is only valid if all details on the Application Form are completed. Entries not completed in accordance with the conditions of entry or received after the closing date will not be considered. Indecipherable or incomplete entries will be disregarded. Late or misdirected emails will not be considered.
- Judge's decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. Winners will be selected by a panel of representatives of the Promoter who, at their discretion, will select the best answer/s based upon originality, creativity, and adherence to the word limit. Chance plays no part in determining the winners.
- All entries become the property of the Promoter – Carers Australia. The Promoter owns (including ownership of all intellectual property rights) all entries. The Promoter may use and publish the entrants' name and State/Territory for promotional purposes on the Carers Australia website or the ReachOut website, printed in publications or on posters and/or used for the purposes of multi-media applications, including the Internet. The Promoter reserves the right to use the content of all entries for the purpose of future promotions and publications.
- The winners will be notified by email within 21 days of promotion closing date. Details of winners will also be published on the ReachOut website, and may be published on the Carers Australia website.
- Completion and submission of contact details on the competition form will be deemed as acceptance by the entrant to the use and publication of their name, State/Territory for the purpose of the Young Carer 2010 Online Competition. It will also be deemed that the entrant has consented to their name and postal address being available to Carers Australia, in the event that they are a winner, to enable Carers Australia, to send them their prize.
- For entrants under 18 years of age on 9 May 2010, completion and submission of the online competition will be taken as the entrant’s parent or legal guardian having given their consent to the entrant’s submission in the Young Carer 2010 Online Competition, as well as the use and publication of their name, State/Territory for the purpose of the competition. It will also be deemed that the parent or legal guardian has given their consent to the entrant’s name and postal address being forwarded to Carers Australia, in the event that they are a winner, to enable Carers Australia to send them their prize.
- Carers Australia Inc accepts no responsibility for loss or damage to prizes in transit. The Promoter makes no representations or warranties as to the quality/suitability of any of the goods/services offered as prizes. To the extent permitted by law, the Promoter is not liable for any loss suffered or sustained, to person or property and including, but not limited to, consequential (including economic) loss by reason of any act or omission, deliberate or negligent, by the Promoter, or its agents, in connection with the arrangement for supply, or the supply, of any goods or services by any person to the prize winner. This clause does not affect, and is not intended to affect, any rights a consumer might have, which are not able to be excluded under applicable Australian consumer protection laws.
- In the event of that any prize item is unavailable, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute a prize item of equal or greater value. Prizes are not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be taken as cash.
- No responsibility will be taken for prizes not claimed within three months of the draw date.
- If for any reason the competition does not run for its duration due to a computer virus, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other cause beyond the control of the Promoter that corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the competition, the Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition or disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process. The Promoter is not responsible for any: (a) malfunction, delay or traffic congestion on any telephone network or line, computer on-line system, servers or providers, computer equipment, software, or website; (b) failure of any email or entry to be received by the Promoter; nor (c) any injury or damage to entrants or any other person related to or resulting from participation in the competition or down loading any materials in a competition.
- The details contained in your entry are protected by security safeguards as detailed in ReachOut’s Privacy Policy, which is also available on this website. The personal information collected as part of the entry is collected to enable identification of the winner and for future promotional purposes. Your personal information will only be disclosed to the Promoter (Carers Australia) and its related bodies corporate for these purposes. You can contact our Privacy Officer if you would like details of the personal information that the Promoter may hold about you or if you would like it to be corrected.
