The Butterfly Effect

butterfly

I really want to share this video with you, about the butterfly effect, I found inspiring. It was given to me by my mentor about: 'the Butterfly Effect', by Andy Andrews.

If you could hold the power in your hand or actually even better: a wand, in your hand and you get asked; 'to use the wand wisely', by following these questions:

1. What do I seek to see?
2. Who will be by my side & forever?
3. Will this mission allow me to see happiness?
4. Can I make a difference, but for who will I make the difference for? Myself or others?

Sometimes, we don't know what life holds in store for us. This is why, we have to quest for our happiness, by motivating ourselves towards something.

It's your journey to self discovery. If you are hurting & feeling sad for losing someone you care about - do you still want happiness or do you want to be misery, for the rest of your life?

The 4 questions are about wanting a sense of belonging. You know what though? If you want to feel you belong - well start believing in this: "You already belong to something. Something so big impossible to hold all at once in your hands, but can cherish it. It's called: Life. Life wants you & you already belong. Seek for happiness within you & start believing in yourself.

Check out the factsheets from ReachOut about happiness and see how you can challenge your thinking.

hi, i really liked that video. it was touching and i agree, yeah life can suck sometimes but in the end there is no need to be sad, to gain power in life you need to be able to let go of the past and focus on the future. you don't need to let go of everything in the past but just the stuff that causes the most pain and suffering in your life.  just thought i would share my view on things

thanks :)

Hey Tammiie. I've done a research on twins back in year 11. You guys practically grew up together and did everything together if you won't separated at birth so it is understandable how it will be hard for you if she had to go away for a little while.

I don't think you have to feel happy that she is absent, just happy that she will get better if she went and be returned to you in a better state of wellbeing.

Unfortunately life also involves a lot of losses, not exactly possession wise, but people wise. So yes I can't stand having people leaving me either, in fact my worst fear (hence my weakness) is being abandoned by people. Rejection is another. I hope we don't have to find happiness in those aspects too.

I think you mum is battling with culture. Depending on how she was brought up - will affect you. Life back in the days is different to what it is today. The generation could be different. I don't know - I am assuming? Do you think maybe that's why?

I read this morning (that Tim Sharp sends everyone who is subscribes to his newsletter) about 'The Morning Happiness'...it was really interesting:

You may not see the good stuff within yourself - but others can see the good stuff of you.

It works both ways: Others see of you within you & you see yourself within you, when others fail you.

Everyone is like that. We all don't see the good deeds we have within ourselves, until others point them out for us. It's interesting how we all work in life, without realising what we do - others DO take notice of.

And yeah - everyone's family is dysfunctional. Your teacher is right. We all argue, have our moments, but than we all get back to things again (some do & some don't). Why? They don't work hard enough to build the relationship back together again.

At this very moment - my parents want to get rid of my sister (twin who hurt herself), because they can't look after her. I am being selfish & saying: No, do not send her away, because she is everything to me. I can't live another moment - losing someone else in my life.

I rather look after my twin sister, because no one understands her better than I do. I say a lot of things - that won't make others happy, but who are they to tell me my fate of happiness?

There are some people out there who can make you happy & can make you sad & it's the same thing with yourself. Life works in circles.

If my sister needs to be sent away to get better, than I guess I have to find happiness within myself knowing 'if she goes - she will be twice as better', but I can't live a day without my twin.

Hey Tammiie.

Thanks for sharing that with me. I was once told by my high school teacher that every family is dysfunctional in some way. Unforuntately it is because of my family (my mum mainly) that is ruining my life. I never ever thought about her that way coz I though that is just typical unreasonable teenage talk i.e. "you are ruining my life" But after a lot of thinking, I think what my mum is doing is really destroying people around her. Regardless, I guess is my own motive to not let her affect me so much. I guess for some will say, it is my choice to have her affect me.

I admire how you look up to your mum. I think I once did with mine too. I try to see the issues she once dealt with and the ones she is dealing with now as they can def. be affecting her, but it is hard to see things her way if she is so arrogrant, ego-istic and does not accept views or even tolerate them if she does not agree to them. It is sad.

Some will see the purpose of life is to be happy or to simply  to seek happiness. Others will see life differently, regardless, it is the ability to find a purpose at all in life that I think is the most important.

Thanks again Tammiie for you post :)

You know what Doris - I want to share something with you, that I've never shared with anyone before and this is the first time I share it to virtual world. It's somewhat personal at the same time, but I am not sharing you shouldn't focus on yourself, but I am saying at the same time - do focus on what you feel & go through..........

'In 1922 - my grandma (Mum's mum) was born. 1957 - my mum was born. In 1970 - my Grandma became paralyzed in her life. So, who was looking after her mum.  My mum. That means she (mum) was 12 years old. In 1970, she was taken out of school to look after her mum, because my mums brothers & sisters travelled, married & were working out of the country, because there were no job available for people at the time, due to the War.

The War than started in Lebanon, which made it difficult for my mum even more. My mum was home-schooled, but because her mum kept calling for her, the tutor said: She cannot be taught at home. It's hard. She chose to look after her mum, because she were more important for her. However, the War was in & school was hardly available.

After 6 years later (1976), Grandma passed away and a few years later her dad (my grandpa) passed away. I've never met them, but I hear they were great parents to her. The life situation in Lebanon was difficult. And it still is.

Anyways, within her residing there she lived with her sister (my aunty who lives here now) & her husband.

During the War, mum saw a lot of stuff (even my dad, but this isn't about him now)...my mum & her brother (the one living in America) were running from the War and whilst they were running -they could see lots 'unwanted things' all over. So, to run & hide was stressful for her.

There was no counselling at the time. No psychiatrist, psychologists etc... nothing. There were Drs, but who had the patient to help back in the days?

So, by then, my dad came to Australia with Grandma (his mum) in 1977 and than after a few years later. At the time, my uncle (who passed away recently) was living in Australia already. Mum came down to live with him (not on the boat, but by plane, because her uncle organised her paperwork to come live in Australia).

Mum battled eating disorder, depression, loss, ptsd, and sadly help wasn't available at the time.

In 1984 - mum married (not that it's a happy story either), but everyone battles stuff. Life is a battlefield. That's just how it is. No one's life is perfect, when shit happens.

We just have to find something to make us 'happy'. It's not about 'what others want you to be'.

Though, being miserable all the time, causes stress & a migraine. And if you want stress & migraine - than go for it. :)

Mum is still alive and she never got the help she needed back in the days, until recently. That's almost after 20 years or something she got help. Whenever I talk to my mum, I consider her my counsellor, but she'll always be my mother first and this is why I love her so much. She always shares inspirational things to me.

I can't say much about others not feeling well in life, but as a Muslim person - I feel with them, because we do Ramadan, which is what is on now. I am a grateful person, because I've learnt from my parents and I am sorry if others don't see that way. This is why I try to help others, because I feel sorry for them & I want to help others to see the difference. I've gone through shit as well, but I am using another way to help me cope, unfortunately, its not called 'working through it', but its called 'erasing what was once there'.

People don't have the energy to find happiness, because they 'choose' not to. What happens if you 'chose to find happiness'?

Anyways, now that I shared that story - it does make me sad reading it, but at the same time - grateful that I have a hero.

But I'll tell you something Doris - We are not a perfect family. We just are grateful. I am sorry if this story affects anyone - if it does - feel free to remove it.

Hey Tammiie. What if I don't believe in God? So that would mean some people are born to face more adversity than others (in other words suffer more). It is also the fact that everyone is different some will cripple earlier than others. Happiness in life seems to be such old concepts, there is so much other important things now especially in developed countries. One may not have to energy to find happiness at the end of a long day battling with life.

@honeyreplicas.com -

Why would you want to change if you are happy?

@lovemyfamily - Do you like other people? If you like other people, than you like who you are. If you don't than - search for the outcomes that could happen or may not happen

There is a quote Audrey Hepburn once wrote:

"Pick the day. Enjoy it - to the hilt. The day as it comes. People as they come... The past, I think, has helped me appreciate the present - and I don't want to spoil any of it by fretting about the future"

@DoriS - Try searching within yourself- if you are worth living for. I see you are much important to life, because you share ideas, give opinions, connect with other people. When I met you (I thought, wow this girl has ideas & is willing to learn new things & take part in activities). We all have a purpose in life & I don't think God put anyone on earth to suffer. These are just me speaking from experience & my inner searching. People who suffer are suffered by others. We decide to get help, because 'we still want to be here'.

In life, we will see the good things & the bad things. Life has it's moments of fighting obstacles & those who are happy all the time aren't being honest with themselves. Also, those who are sad all the times - the negativity will get to you, until you've had enough (you never know what may happen).

It's important to have a bit of both (happiness & sadness), but don't be sad all the time.

If you hate yourself, than its important to explore opportunities with your counsellor & work out strategies to help you maintain a healthy wellbeing.

Thats you speaking today - take a look at yourself in 5 or 10 years time. You will change throughout your life journey than.

12 years ago I was a self-destructive person, but mostly 2 years ago. In 2010 - I changed & today I am this person 'making a difference' in life.

Its up to you at the end of the day & what you want.

You make the decision: if you want to be sad, than be sad, but is that what you like? What will happen if you are always sad? What about if you are happy? What will happen if you are happy? Look at the realistic part of life & compare the both.

You can be happy & sad at the same time. God, if someone is happy all the time - than they are faking life & faking themselves, but try & balance your life out.

I don't get how I belong to life. (especially when me and life are not friends)

Sorry about all this negativity, it just sound so impossible to achieve. Like find happiness within our selves, what if there is none to be found?
