Bored much?
School is out and it's summer time and this is the time where boredom can strike. High School or University may not be fun all the time but there is always something to do. Boredom can appear when you spend most of your time at home having nothing to do or it can be having the same routine like going to work, coming home, eating and sleeping. Feeling bored can contribute to the blues, so what can we do when boredom hits?
Some of us may feel bored when there is little to do in our lives, when we don’t feel challenged or when we feel separated from our friends or community. Being bored can sometimes motivate us to get up and make a change in our life by getting involved, doing what we enjoy in life and taking up a new challenge. Being active by exercising, dancing, cycling, photography, cooking or even playing board games can be a great cure of boredom.
For others, curing boredom can be going out and helping others by volunteering or finding a casual or part time job. That is how I cure my boredom and this is also a great way to make new friends as well as further your working experience. So this Monday, we'll be chatting about boredom during our Getting Real session and we want to know how you cure your boredom and how you are dealing with boredom this summer
Come join us here on Monday 9th of January at 8pm AEST and share with us how you deal and how you cure boredom.
In the mean time check out this factsheet to look at ways to cure boredom. Or watch this video...
