It's Drug Action Week
At some point in all our lives (maybe lots of points), we are placed in situations where we are faced with drugs and need to make a decision on what to do next. Do we take it, do we say no, do we give it one try to see what it’s like, do we walk away and never look back, do we accept that drug use is a part of our social networks and there is nothing we can do? What do we do?
Each of us will have a different answer, a different rationale, a different choice.
So why all the rambling? :)
This week is Drug Action Week! That means week long activities held nationally to raise awareness about alcohol and other drugs (AOD) issues in Australia. The week also highlights the achievements of the dedicated individuals who work within the AOD sector to reduce alcohol and drug-related harm.
In the spirit of this week and what it represents this year, it would be great if we could talk about situations we have been in, individuals who have helped us through them, situations you have helped your friends through, when it came to drug use.
If you want to get more involved the DAW website has some more activities happening on a national level that you can take part in.
Looking forward to hearing about those special people and special deeds in the spirit of Drug Action Week.

Reply ReportI am a bit confused about the kind of stories you are looking for? Reasons we have said no to drugs? Or people working in this area?

Reply Report@ k-vik, If you don't mind sharing, it would be great and really helpful to hear what you have to say.

Reply ReportI'm so proud of the people strong enough to say No and leave it there. We all come across drugs and have different influences in our lifes which can make drugs seem more or less appealing. I have so much to say regarding this topic as it is my core.

Reply ReportInteresting :). I agree with Ollie, I say no too them as well it is hard to stop if you have ever tried it I have watched my bestfriend go so far downhill I can't believe she is the same person. I have experienced them first-hand, It's a shame because it's an easy, terrible spiral to fall into when life gets hard but I reminded myself that drugs don't fix your problems. I am proud to say it's been 11mnths I have been free cold turkey and I don't ever want to go back. XoX Cally. Tip for anyone out there... write down what your dream is no matter what it is and include small step-by-step tasks you can do to help yourself stay focused and enthusastic and get closer to attaining your goal. I have a huge bucket list of over 1,000 things that I have to do before I die and I set myself 1 at minimum to do each week and try and plan and save for the big ones. xx Dont give up!

Reply ReportOoO this sounds interesting. I say 'NO' to drugs. Once you try it - it's an 'addiction' hard to stop. Than, you'll have withdrawals & leftovers...it's hard to overcome.
