Drugs are like Chocolate...
Years ago, I was tempted to try drugs, but didn't.
What did I do? I chose to eat chocolate, instead. Well, basically because it's an addiction; the tastiest caramel flavour chocolate, was just as healthy, yet so addictive like a lucrative amount of cocaine, alcohol or cigarettes.
Drugs, such as alcohol, cocaine and a cigarette, are like chocolate(s), because they are all addictive and sometimes painful.
Drugs affect many people in their day to day lives. Some take drugs out of peer pressure 'thinking: hey mate - try this. I hear its good'. Whereas, others take drugs via prescription to get better, such as marijuana which helps cancer patients.
People want to experience a one off thing, but drug isn't a 'one off' thing to be experiencing with. It's like pop-tarts. A chocolate flavour pop tart: 'Once you pop - you can't stop'.
I was watching Basketball Diaries, with Leonardo DiCaprio & Mark Wahlberg, two of my favourite actors. It's terrifying how people get mixed up with drugs and don't know which drug is what. I believe if some people want to learn about 'drugs' and want to 'take drugs', than why not study up about it? Get as much information as you can before you make a choice, It's interesting.
For example the 'chocolate' theory. It's sweet, delicious and addicting, that you could have it all the time. What happens to you later when you eat too much? You get a stomach pain, tooth ache, and the crave of wanting more ...
Even when I had my first taste of alcohol, which didn't go so well for me - I could feel my body burning and my brain not functioning 100% well.
I prefer eating my addictive chocolate, but other times I need you to take them away from me...:)
Here are a few questions I would love you guys to attempt or think about:
1. If you had a friend who was using drugs - what would you do?
2. What advice would you give to people who are experiencing drug problems?
3. Before you take drugs or become an abusive drinker - think about what you are taking away from your life?
It's vital for people to seek professional help. There are factsheets you can check out on here about Drugs and Alcohol as well, with lots of great ways to help you overcome your addiction.
