Getting Real - Meeting New People & Making Friends
Meeting new people and making new friends is something we all face from time to time (especially during transition periods like moving to a different school, moving out of home or starting uni). Once you have those friends, there is also the issue of how to keep them, how to maintain healthy friendship and determine when friendships we have aren’t so healthy.
Join us on Monday night for a conversation about meeting new people, making new friends and healthy friendships. We will chat about tips for getting out and meeting new people, how to get to know others, and how to establish and maintain healthy friendships. In addition, given that we are focusing on bullying this month, we will look at concerns that might make it difficult to meet new people and make new friends (including experiences of having been bullied or low self-esteem) and also chat about sticking by the things that are important to you and that you value (not getting sucked into bullying others) when you are trying to fit in and get to know new people.
Whether you are super extroverted and just love getting out there, or more introverted and prefer to stick with people you know, come along and give us your thoughts on this topic.
