In a rich mans world
Euro, pound, franc, peso, lira, dollar… So many different names for the same thing! MONEY! Money is a part of our everyday lives and all of us at some point have struggled with it in some way. Considering it is estimated that on average Australians spend $1000 on Christmas each year, it's a topic worth considering!
Learning about money is a part of gaining our independence from our parents and is a bit of a "rite of passage". I am sure many of us can remember the first time we got paid from our casual after school job, or when we made our first big purchase. Unfortunately, we can also remember the first time we got into trouble with money; the first time we didn't have enough money to buy something that we really wanted, because we knew we had to pay board or rent, or when we had to borrow some money off a close friend or family member because we needed something essential and didn't have it that week.
Whether you get your income from Centrelink, your parents, a part time or full time job, we all struggle with saving money and prioritising the essentials and the luxuries. Maybe you are thinking of getting a credit card, getting your first loan, or maybe you have a credit card and/or a loan and you're stressing out on how to pay for the repayments, maybe you need some tips on how to help you deal with this or you have some tips that you want to share. We are encouraging everyone to come join us here on Monday 19 December 8pm AEDT in our Getting Real session. Don't worry… The session is free to attend! ;)
