Meet our newest recruit!
Yesterday two representatives of ReachOut.com attended the The Whitlam Institute's What Matters? Writing Competition. We were on hand to present a prize to the 11/12 winner and overall competition winner (she won both prizes!) to Madeleine Boxall. She won an automatic place in our ReachOut Reporter 2012 program for her winning entry called People Discriminate, Love Does Not, calls for same-sex marriage equality.
The ReachOut Reporter program is a year long project that mentors 16 young people from all over Australia to become multi-media content producers for the ReachOut.com site. The producers attend two workshop trainings in Sydney and get PAID for their contributions to our site.

The winners and runners up in each category were presented with a certificate as well as a monetary prize and five participating schools were also announced as the winners of Officeworks gift cards to the value of $1,000 each.
The 2011 Award ceremony, held on August 4, was attended by Mrs Margaret Whitlam AO, SBS's rising star Dateline co-presenter Yalda Hakim, as well as Sydney Morning Herald journalist and What Matters judge Andrew West and other dignitaries.
