Online forum on Digital Citizenship
You're invited to an online discussion!
TOPIC: What does it mean to you to be a citizen of the digital world?
DATE/TIME: 6pm AEST, Wednesday 24th August
Please join us for an online forum to tell us about your experiences in the online world!
The Inspire team is working with some researchers from the University of Western Sydney on a project to find out more about how young people like you use the internet and social media. We want to know more about how these things play a role in your life and, in particular, how important they are to your sense of being both an individual and a member of a community.
This forum gives you the opportunity to directly affect the policies and services that are being developed for young people. The research team will analyse the information you give us and then share it with a range of government and not-for-profit youth-serving organisations to help them better understand the things that are important to young people who are engaging in online spaces.
During this two-hour discussion, we are interested in hearing from you about:
- How you connect with others in the digital world
- What technologies do you use?
- Who do you connect with?
- Why those people and not others?
- What sorts of principles shape the way you relate to others when you are using the internet and social media
- Why do you like to engage with others online?
- Is it important to look out for other people online?
- Whether you engage with ‘big issues’ (like mental health, climate change etc) in online spaces
- Do you want to change the world? If so, how?
- Do online and networked media give you opportunities to change the way other people think?
And much more… In short, we want to know from you what it means to be a citizen of the digital world.
So be sure to log on from 6pm AEST to have your say. See you then!
