Tonight: Let's get diverse!
The world is filled with many different cultures, nationalities, religions, social statuses, etc. Everyone is different and has different experiences, views and opinions. Sometimes these differences are presented through stereotypes, other times they are more unique.
However it is important to embrace our differences and to look at how they all fit into the bigger picture. Our differences can allow us to work better together as we can all bring different skills, knowledge to help create a better understanding of ourselves, others and the world.
Several songs touch on the theme of discrimination and differences and can be a way of expressing and exploring these ideas without being too specific. Do you remember Where is the Love by The Black-eyed Peas? It asks us to question the values of love, community and the ideas of racism among other things:
Join us tonight, Monday 17th October at 8pm AEST to discuss discrimination and diversity, what they means to you and how they impact on a local, national and global level.
