Hello fellow Ro-erers!

I've decided to access the collective wisdom that is the amazing people in RO! land to find out what people's favourite relaxation techniques are! I'd love to make a list that i can share with people and am doing my best to ask all sorts of different people to get lots of different ideas.

So mine would be....
- go to the park and read
- take my dog for a walk
- take and edit photos
- add new things to my 'book of wonder' (activities i want to do, random nice things people have said, favourite quotes, interesting research i've read)

So what are yours? ready.....GO!

- Sit in the middle of the ocean and concentrate on levitating.

- Stand in the middle of the road & focus that 'time is moving faster than me'

- Hang upside on the monkey bars & focus on how I see the world upside down

- Get myself in a coma & focus on the happiest moment of my life

- Listen to music whilst jogging

- Sit on a very high building (imaginative, whilst I'm in that coma stage) & see the whole world & think to myself about lots of stuff.

thanks so much everyone! im busy copying and pasting to make a list up!

@Le Ophelia - the "coma" state you mentioned, is that something you get to with meditation? I really like some of your ideas - certainly a bit different to others ive heard so far!

One more for me is to go on the swings. I'm a 22yr old guy but there is still something soothing about swinging!

@ Mazzman swings are bloody awsome its like awhole diffrent world when your on them its like your free again,full off innoncence like when you were a kid,Idk how to explain but agree.

Coma state can be by medication or it can be by challening your thoughts n switching complete off from things n zoning out,Im not sure which Ollie meant though,so it will be good to hear back from her.

When I do meditate at home - I block everything outside of me & shut myself from the world, but it takes a while to do so.  I'm always trying to get in touch with my inner self. It's a part of my way of living my belief.

When I'm in that 'coma' stage - I'm another place and I imagine a lot of stuff, like, how I wish I was living my life.

For me to wake up, I have to find a place in my mind, to wake up & I always do. I've been doing it for almost 4 years, but I wouldn't recommend people to try it on their own, if they can't wake up on their own.

I am different! My cousin M, who is 21 & a guy - loves to swing too. It's fun & everyone has their liking :) Great stuff Mazzman *thumbs up*

I love listening to this Linkin Park: In the end whilst I relax.

@Mazzman: awesome list!

I discovered another one today - although I suggest if you try it not to do it with a full stomach! Also don't do it where you might fall or run into something! (that's my disclaimer :P)

- spin around and around in a circle until you are so dizzy you fall over and then lay back and watch the world go by...

@Nadine - Lol - we should be partners in crime when it comes to singing loud in the car!! Than u have the cars on the otherside looking at us weirdly saying: :-/ | but than again - we could have nice voices in singing! :)

Another relaxation technique - Im stealing this off my friend CG - singing & dancing randomly in the middle of the nights in town, when no one is around). People may think you drunk - but it's just you personally :)

I listen to music - I prefer country music as I can try and fit into the lyrics!

Otherwise I go out and spend some time with our gorgeous 17hh Appaloosa gelding..... brushing and grooming him seems to help me relax and I can feel it all the time!

@Joe - whoo! I'm glad I found another country music fan!!
(mind these caps, I am sorry, but)
OMG. YOU HAVE A HORSE?!!?!!
Of course a horse would help you relax. I find grooming and just talking to them helps so much. Horse's lift my mood immensely. And an Appaloosa too. What colouring? I like the leopard but the spotted blanket is also very nice. Gee whiz, 17hh... he's pretty massive! hehe. :)

@McLeod,

Cannot post photos into posts - so I have uploaded the photo to Photobucket so you can see him!

He's a big sook - I occasionally ride him when my legs want to agree with his wide body!
