Police can help out!

Police can be of assistance, especially in an emergency.

Police can help, particularly in an emergency. If someone may be in danger the police will be able to help. Some police have specific training to help in situations such as domestic violence. There are other officers who are trained to work with young people - these officers are referred to as Police Youth Liaison Officers (PYLO). If you want to talk with an officer about something, you might want to try one of these officers. Call your local station (if not an emergency) and ask for the PYLO. You can get the number of your local station from the White Pages

If you are concerned you might hurt yourself or someone else, call the police on '000' if you live in Australia. If you live outside Australia, check your local phone book for the number.

There are other people to talk to

Lifeline (131 114) or Kids Help Line (1800 55 1800) should be able to help you with some numbers in your local area. You can also read about other services on this site and look them up in your local phone book or check out the Yellow Pages online.
