Psychiatric crisis teams

Psychiatric crisis teams may be in your area

These teams can have different names, such as 'Mobile Teams' or 'After Hours Mental Health Teams'. They also vary in what they offer but they are designed to provide 24 hour crisis intervention.

So, if you are really worried about your own mental health wellbeing or someone close to you and feel someone needs to help soon - these teams may be able to assist in a crisis.

Teams are usually provided in most urban and large regional areas. For information about these services you can contact the emergency/casualty unit at the nearest hospital. To find one of these teams, look under 'Hospital' in your phone book - try the White Pages online - and give them a call.

There are other people to talk to

Lifeline (131 114) or Kids Helpline (1800 55 1800) should be able to help you with some numbers in your local area. You can also read about Who can help you on this site or check out the beyondblue Directory of Medical and Allied Health Practitioners
