Here’s what’s new with ReachOut
We’re making some changes to ReachOut so that we can better support you. We have a new look and identity, a new one-to-one peer support service (ReachOut PeerChat) and an updated website experience. We’re making these changes because we want to support you in the best way we can.
Why are we changing things?
We’ve done a lot of research with young people around Australia to help us figure out how best to support you. Our new homepage is easier to use to find what you need, whether that’s one-to-one support, wellbeing resources or a place to connect with other young people. We want to make our service as accessible and easy-to-use as possible so that you spend less time searching and more time getting exactly what you need.
Introducing ReachOut PeerChat
Our research with young people told us that you want to connect with someone who understands what you’re going through.
We’ve created PeerChat, a safe, anonymous space for young people aged 18–25 to get free, one-to-one support from a trained peer worker. A peer worker is someone who has their own experience of mental health or life challenges – basically, they ‘get’ it. You can book an online text chat and talk to a peer worker about whatever you’re going through – nothing’s too big or too small. Learn more about what a peer worker is here.

Our updated website experience
You might have noticed that the ReachOut homepage looks different. We’ve made it easier to find what you need to feel better, whether that’s one-to-one support, wellbeing resources or ways to feel better right now. It’s been designed to help you quickly find the support that’s right for you.
In the next couple of months, we’ll also be making some updates to the ReachOut Online Community.
ReachOut’s brand identity has also changed. We’ve created a new logo and are using new colours that are accessible and attractive. You might also see videos about our new brand floating around on social media. It’s going to take us some time to roll out all of these changes, so as you explore ReachOut, you might notice these things gradually updating.
We’re really excited about all of these changes, and we hope you love them as much as we do.
