ReachOut is set to receive $60,000 thanks to the support of the local community and this year’s Officeworks Round Up To Make A Difference initiative.
The much needed funds will go towards supporting young people to access digital support when it comes to their mental health and wellbeing.
This year, due to the significant and ongoing impact of COVID-19, the focus of the initiative was to assist 17 organisations in two important areas: education and mental health in the community. Together with customers, the Officeworks initiative has raised more than $1.41 million across Australia.
CEO of ReachOut, Ashley de Silva said “COVID-19 restrictions have had a disproportionate impact on the lives of young people across Australia, in particular when it comes to issues such as stress about the future, work and money, study stress and body image. ReachOut sends a big thank you to Officeworks and all of their customers who are helping to ensure that young people have access to resources to support their mental health both now and into the future.”
Officeworks Epping Store Business Manager, Purnima Perera, said: “It has been really rewarding to see the passion and commitment from our team to support ReachOut in this year’s Round Up To Make A Difference. Connecting with the local community is really important to us and we hope the funds raised can help make a positive difference for the important work ReachOut does in our community.’’
The initiative is part of Officeworks’ commitment to making a positive difference in the communities where the team live and work. The 167 Officeworks store teams selected the organisations they wanted to help based on their connections with their local communities.
The full list of organisations supported this year include: Very Special Kids, Kids Under Cover, Keeley’s Cause, the Alannah and Madeline Foundation, ReachOut, Backpacks 4 VIC Kids, Speak Up! Stay chatty, Starlight Foundation, EatUp, PCYC NSW, Black Dog Institute, Camp Quality, Kids Helpline, Radio Lollipop, Hummingbird House, Kick Start for Kids, and Perth Children’s Hospital Foundation.
