Are you okay?

The second Thursday of September is RUOK? Day. It can be a really tricky question to ask, but it's an important conversation to have. Check out a few different ways that you can ask your friends and family how they're doing.

All around Australia, RUOK? Day encourages us to check in with our family and friends to see how they’re doing. A lot of the time it can be really hard to know how someone is feeling and the only way to learn is to ask them. Having this conversation is really important and will help to reduce suicide rates as more and more people going through tough times feel safe to talk about what they’re experiencing. It can be a tricky conversation to have, so find a way that suits you and roll with it. Get some more info on how to ask a friend if they're okay.

    I'm really embarrassed when I ask those kinds of questions, like "Are you okay?". It makes me feel as if I'm girly and over compassionate. At the same time, I feel as if I should say something nice to my friend for once. Any help with this situation?
