Couch to 5k is a fitness program to help you move from the couch to the 5km finish line in nine weeks. Your virtual coach will guide you through sessions of 20-30 minutes, three times a week, using interval training to slowly build your fitness and help you become a runner.

This is a great app to encourage people to get active with a well planned, easy routine that progresses slowly day by day. This app has a really simple and pleasant interface. It’s good that you can see how much of the workout you have left, what is coming up in the next phase, and how many workouts there are left to go in order to achieve the goal of jogging 5kms. It’s a realistic program so most people should achieve the goals set forth. It’s also good that you can log your progress, hook up with buddies and share your progress on Facebook, and track your pace and route on a GPS. I didn’t use the GPS option because I couldn’t easily work out how. I couldn’t figure out how to add music to the workout from the list of options presented. I would have liked to hear more encouragement throughout the walk/jog routine.
I like the concept of easing one's way in to an active lifestyle and the layout. The information and guide is obviously reliable being created by a number of industry professionals.

It keeps you motivated, I like that it has very specific manageable workouts. It's a fantastic idea and is executed pretty well.

When I looked for events that were happening around Sydney it had no results. If the app could have more Australian options that would be great. Also another option for personalised workouts rather than just the set ones given.
